About the Role
SNIPEF (The Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers Federation) is seeking an expert Technical Advisor & Training Officer to join their Technical Team in Edinburgh.
This is a central, newly-created role, perfect for a motivated individual—perhaps a Plumbing/Heating Lecturer or an experienced professional—committed to developing the next generation of the industry. You will be instrumental in raising professional standards across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities (The Impact You'll Make)
- Expert Guidance: Provide authoritative technical advice and support to members on all matters, including plumbing, heating, water safety, building standards, and gas safety.
- Training Design & Delivery: Help design, develop, and deliver high-quality training sessions, workshops, and presentations through the SNIPEF Academy.
- Inspections & Compliance: Conduct technical and member inspections, provide technical input for certification schemes, and contribute to SNIPEF's complaints process.
- Improvement: Contribute to the review of technical standards and the continuous improvement of training content and member support services.
We're Looking for Someone With:
- Extensive, hands-on experience and technical expertise in plumbing and heating systems.
- Recognised qualifications in plumbing, heating, or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with proven experience delivering training, mentoring, or technical presentations.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and excellent organisational skills.
- A positive, professional, and approachable manner.
Note on Qualifications: While an Assessor qualification is preferred, we understand this is a newly created position and are happy to support the right candidate in obtaining this if required.
